What is Sportstake 8?
Sportstake 8 is a South African National Lottery sports pool game in which players predict the outcomes of eight selected football matches. For each fixture, players choose between three possible outcomes — Home win (H), Draw (D), or Away win (A). Players who correctly predict all eight results win the Division 1 prize, with smaller payouts for seven and six correct predictions.
Draws take place every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. No two draws use the same fixture list — each draw features a unique set of matches drawn from local and international football leagues.
What is Sportstake 13?
Sportstake 13 follows the same format as Sportstake 8 but requires players to correctly predict the outcomes of thirteen football fixtures instead of eight. The larger number of matches makes it more difficult to win Division 1, but also means larger prize pools are available across more divisions.
Sportstake 13 draws take place every Monday and Friday, using a separate fixture list from the Sportstake 8 draw on the same day.
How to play Sportstake
Players select H (Home win), D (Draw) or A (Away win) for each listed fixture on an official Sportstake coupon, available at any authorised National Lottery retailer or online at nationallottery.co.za. A single board costs R3.00. Players can enter multiple boards per draw to cover additional combinations.
Results are determined by the actual outcomes of the listed matches. In the event of a postponed or abandoned fixture, ITHUBA applies official rules to determine the result for that match.
