A lucky player has won the full PowerBall Plus jackpot of R3 million in the draw held on Tuesday, 1 July 2025.

The main PowerBall jackpot, which stood at R46 million, had no winner for the highest prize tier, meaning it rolls over to the next draw.
The winning numbers for the PowerBall draw were 08, 09, 26, 30, 31 and the PowerBall number was 08.
For the PowerBall Plus draw, the winning numbers were 02, 03, 05, 20, 41 with the PowerBall number 09.
While no player matched all five numbers and the PowerBall in the main draw, one player matched all five numbers, winning R322,991.90.
On the PowerBall Plus side, one ticket matched all five numbers plus the PowerBall, securing the R3 million jackpot prize.
Another player matched five numbers without the PowerBall, winning R130,252.30.
How to claim PowerBall jackpot prizes
For many players unfamiliar with how these games work, the PowerBall and PowerBall Plus are two separate lottery games that take place during the same draw.
Players choose five numbers from a set of 1 to 50 and a PowerBall number from 1 to 20.
The aim is to match all six numbers drawn. PowerBall Plus gives players a second chance to win using the same set of numbers entered into the main draw, for an additional fee.
To claim PowerBall prizes, winners must present their original winning ticket at an authorised National Lottery office. Prizes under R2,000 can be collected from any participating retailer.
Prizes between R2,000 and R49,999 can be claimed at any authorised payment center, such as Shoprite or Checkers Money Market counters.
For winnings over R50,000, including jackpots, players must go directly to an Ithuba regional office and provide a valid South African ID, proof of bank account, and the signed winning ticket.
“All jackpot winners are encouraged to seek financial advice before claiming their prize. We also offer free financial and emotional counselling to help winners adjust, according to Ithuba, the official operator of the National Lottery.
Players should check their tickets carefully and keep them in a safe place. Lottery winnings must be claimed within 365 days from the date of the draw.
The PowerBall jackpot for the next draw on Friday, 4 July 2025, is estimated at R51 million. The PowerBall Plus jackpot will reset to R3 million.
